The 2024 Week 8 Restoration Works
To document the activities of the Farina Restoration Group (FRG) each week during our 8 week programme in 2024 we have chosen to ask for contributions of stories and photos from Volunteers and Visitors. We hope you enjoy looking at the activities and events through the eyes of our volunteers and visitors.
Our volunteers have just completed a touching piece of work at the Farina Cemetery, in the un-consecrated children’s section. In Weeks 6,7,8 volunteers Paul and Jan Lewandowski weeded the cemetery area. As these graves only have a white cross, they thought it would be a be lovely gesture to place a white rock also as a symbol of remembrance. So after a talk around the camp fire, Anna Linden, another talented volunteer said she would paint birds on them . What a great idea, so that week Anna painted 15 different birds all of this area. Paul and Jan completed their stint at Farina, so the work was completed by Stuart Bamford and CJ in Week 8 to set the rocks in front of each cross. Volunteer co-ordinator Tamara Greenham placed the first rock on Sara’s Grave, it’s the one with the wrought iron around it. It was a very moving experience for all. Thankyou to all who were part of this special project ![]()
